The center will also follow an unusual model for intellectual property rights, whereby all participants, including the school, industry partners and researchers, will receive a license granting full access to research products.
Center director Professor David Mendlovic is optimistic that the new department will bring together universities and industry to push the boundaries of research: âAcademic freedom to create and innovate on the one hand, and the desire for research which has practical applicability on the other hand, has led to a center that brings together innovation labs dealing with a variety of topics and actors such as industry, hospitals and government agencies .

TAU hopes that the centre’s activities will lead to practical and applicable solutions within three to seven years.
