Sercel has announced the delivery of a 25,000-channel 508XT land-based seismic acquisition system and 15 Nomad 65 Neo high-speed vibrators to Algeoland, Algeria’s leading private geophysics company.
Algeoland will deploy the Sercel equipment to carry out a large 3D seismic campaign over an area of 2000 km² of the desert region of Rhourde-Nouss in north-eastern Algeria, on behalf of the national oil company.
The 508XT system pushes productivity, data quality and adaptability to an unprecedented level with its X-Tech architecture. Generating high-fidelity low-frequency broadband scans up to 1 Hz, the all-terrain Nomad 65 Neo is capable of contributing to the delivery of higher resolution seismic data, even in the Algerian desert.
Mebrouk Tarfaoui, CEO of Algeoland, said: “Sercel’s success is based on the reliability of its products, dedicated customer support and a pioneering spirit of innovation. By deploying Sercel equipment, we will benefit from its latest acquisition technologies and have the confidence to provide our customers with the best data ever created for imaging.
Pascal Rouiller, CEO of Sercel, declared: “As an equipment supplier to Algeoland since the creation of the company in 2014, we are happy to have once again been selected to equip a large earthquake study in Algeria. The 508XT and the Nomad 65 Neo have both proven themselves in the field in the most difficult desert conditions and their deployment will allow Algeoland to achieve the highest productivity and reduced operational downtime.
