School Matters: Join the beehive this fall at the CLI Early Education Center at FW Gross | Education

You may have heard the buzzing around town. In partnership with VISD, the Children’s Learning Institute (CLI) at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston (UTHealth) is eager to (re) open the doors of FW Gross as the first such early childhood education center. . We are now registering for Fall 2021 and welcome you and your family to join the Buzz Bee Hive at the CLI Early Education Center at FW Gross (CLI EEC).

It’s no secret that a child’s first experiences are the foundation for all future learning and growth. Throughout early childhood, interactions with parents, family members, and teachers, combined with experiences from their environment and community, lead to brain development that occurs at a rapid pace. In fact, over 80% of a child’s brain development is complete by age 3. At CLI EEC, we will offer a rich and engaging program that will help foster this rapid development and put students on the path to academic and life success.

When the doors open in August, we will be welcoming just over 300 preschool (3 and 4 years old), kindergarten and first grade children. The goal of this school is to give Victoria’s youngest students the best education, building on VISD’s commitment to early childhood education throughout the district.

In each of our classrooms, we will offer a high quality curriculum in English and teachers specially trained in socio-emotional pedagogical practices, all creating an optimal learning environment. The lessons will be very interesting and the students will have a wide variety of practical experiences. A charter school in the district, CLI EEC offers the same resources for children and their families as other VISD elementary campuses, including transportation and after-school care. We will also be the only VISD campus to offer education to children from Kindergarten to 3 years old. Preschool for 3 and 4 year olds is free for those who are eligible. If you are not eligible, a tuition-based program is also available.

If you have a young child, we’re here to answer your questions and help you sign up. Our courses fill up quickly, but we still have places available. Visit our website to download the required registration documents. You can submit online or in person.
