Pasadena Veterans Day Ceremony Honors Those Who Served

PASADENA, Calif.—Each year on Veterans Day, Pasadena stops to honor and remember veterans. The Pasadena Veterans Day Committee, in conjunction with Vietnam Veterans of America Ch. 446 and American Legion Pasadena Post #13, invites the community to attend this year’s commemoration on Friday, November 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the hotel. of Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave.

The featured speaker for the ceremony is Col. Quintin D. Jones, commanding officer of 23rd Marine Regiment in San Bruno, CA. Colonel Jones hails from Memphis, TN and has commanded units at all levels from platoon to regiment. Mayor Victor M. Gordo will also deliver remarks. The Blair High School band will play the anthems for each branch of the armed forces, and Blair’s Junior ROTC will provide the color guard. As a tribute to the Gold Star families in attendance, Pasadena Scottish Pipes & Drums will perform “Amazing Grace”.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Supervisor Kathryn Barger, at 11:11 a.m. sharp, Condor Squadron will conduct a low-level military flyby in close formation. Other ceremony activities include a California State Guard Military Museum Command display, children’s arts and crafts, free food, and more.
