Out & About: The Greensburg Art Center Holiday Show / Sale runs through December 22


JoAnne Barclay landed the annual jackpot at a Greensburg Art Center The art of giving holiday show and sale.

Her purchases included a “beautiful” set of cotton-wrapped cord coasters, a mug with multi-colored frosting, and a set of wood-framed miniature paintings depicting the four seasons.

The Herminie resident was shopping both for herself and for those on her gift list when the show opens on November 6, which runs through December 22.

About 25 artists contributed works of art, including paintings and sculptures, to complement a range of merchandise from the centre’s artists’ market year-round.

Season-specific items include ornaments, other decorative items, artwork, serving platters, kitchen towels and more. Other items that can be given as gifts include jewelry, scarves, and other accessories.

The annual Art of Gifting holiday exhibition and sale runs through December 22 at the Greensburg Art Center.

Visitors to the opening reception were treated to a cookie table and a punch in the center classroom, where the walls were adorned with paintings submitted for a mural art competition titled “This is the season. to be happy ”.

Contest winners, judged by the member artist prosecute Pollins, were “Sleigh Ride” by Tap Majcher, first place; “Christmas night” by Eileen Yeager, second; and “Jolly Bouquet” by Tami Krusper, third.

This year’s Gift Art was chaired by Debbie King, with committee members including Ginger Hepler, Jeanne Siecinski and Loretta Wolfe.

Buyers interested in browsing the show can visit the center at 230 Todd School Road, Hempfield, during normal hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Thursday.
