MacMullen Hired as Principal at Sacred Heart Academy – Delco Times


BRYN MAWR — After an extensive nationwide search by Carney Sandoe & Associates, Sacred Heart Academy has appointed Carla Jantos MacMullen to serve as principal of the school.

MacMullen, who brings more than 30 years of experience in leadership and teaching roles at independent schools, began her new job at one of the top Catholic schools for girls in K-12 on July 1.

“I am honored to have been chosen to lead Sacred Heart Academy in the next chapter of the school’s history,” MacMullen said. “I’m also excited to partner with the school board to advance strategic initiatives while staying true to the school’s mission.”

For over 150 years, Sacred Heart Academy has worked to empower young girls by ensuring that every voice is heard. While searching for the school’s new principal, alumnus, recently graduated parent, and board member Mary Locke Cavallaro ’86 P’22 reached out to the school community to hear their thoughts on the search. . The national research process included community surveys and conversations that led to a consensus between the board and the community that the new school principal should be a vocal champion of the school’s mission, goals and education. The appointment of the school’s new principal comes as the school implements efforts to welcome new families to the Sacred Heart community this fall by offering special tuition discounts this summer. All K-2 students who enroll for the 2022-23 school year will be guaranteed an annual tuition rate of $8,500 (instead of $13,000), which is locked in for two years. ‘registration. All families in kindergarten through fourth grade will receive free before and after school care as part of tuition.
