London appointed Director of Testing Services

Jacob London, a staff member of the Office of Testing Services for 17 years, has been named its new director, effective July 1.

In her new role, London is responsible for expanding access to remote and on-campus testing, forming partnerships with units across campus, and ensuring compliance of all vendor testing processes and procedures. external. London will also support the center as it takes responsibility for the campus’ adapted testing efforts in partnership with the Center for Educational Access, starting July 1.

“I am honored to have been chosen as director and grateful to have the opportunity to lead testing services in the future,” said London. “I am proud of the work we have done over the years and will strive to continue on the path set by Dr. Mirdamadi during his career in testing services. I look forward to building partnerships on the campus as we expand our offerings to our students and the surrounding community.”

London has worked in the Office of Testing Services since 2005, starting as an administrative assistant before being promoted to Office Manager in 2012. In 2019, he was appointed Associate Director of Testing Services, where he served as the primary contact for partners training, trained new and existing staff and coordinated testing provider schedules, while helping to achieve National College Testing Association certification.

“Jacob is a long-time and valued member of testing services within the Graduate School and international education and has been integral to building this office from its origins as a paper-based testing center to to a fully accredited computerized facility,” said Curt Rom, Dean of Graduate School and International Education. “His experience in test center operations, strategic planning and national-level participation with the National College Testing Association will be essential as testing services expand their services to campus. I know he is eager to respond to growing needs of the campus community.”

London replaces Yassaman Mirdamadi, who retired this summer after 39 years with the U of A.
