DANVILLE, Virginia (WFXR) – In order to meet the growing needs of Danville citizens seeking a high school diploma or its equivalent, the Danville Adult and Career Education Center (ACEC) is expanding to- beyond the doors of his building on Goode Street.
ACEC Danville has been providing services to its adult population such as GED tests, GED preparation courses, workforce preparation services and ESL courses for years. In 2022, it will offer courses in seven additional locations:
- Woodrow Wilson at 1005 North Main Street
- Bibleway World Wide Church at 215 Grant Street
- Glenwood Community Center at 1550 Halifax Road
- Boys and Girls Club of the Danville district at 123, rue Foster
- Cardinal Village Community Center
- Danville Adult Detention Center
- Danville City Jail (men and women)
âDue to the pandemic and other unforeseen circumstances, many people cannot access our
location, so the expansion will allow the community to get to the closest place to where it resides, âsaid Dr Antonio Hairston, Adult Education and Public School Credit Recovery Coordinator de Danville (DPS). âThe Adult Education and Career Center aims to break down barriers in order to help students achieve
their full potential.
ACEC will also offer evening classes to high school DPS students who need to recoup credits to graduate.
ACEC also offers professional training such as obtaining a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), customer service and ServSafe courses.
